Using assessment to promote growth through the intermediate level of proficiency

Proper alignment among instruction, learning, and assessment is the key to achieving a program’s goals. In this workshop we will discuss ways to organize our teaching and assessment practices so that all the components of a course are perfectly aligned to help students achieve the course’s objectives. To that effect, we will focus on using assessment for learning (vs. assessment of learning) strategies to facilitate and monitor students’ progress through the intermediate level of proficiency in the interpretive, presentational and interpersonal modes of communication.

Registration is restricted to graduate students.  We will only count live attendance as a completed activity towards the Core Workshop requirement of the PCLS Language Teaching Credential.
